Peru Inca Trail Trek 2017
10th-19th November 2017
Join our 2017 trek to follow the ancient route of the Incas, explore the Andes and uncover the mysteries of Machu Picchu, all whilst making a real difference to the RUH and its patients.
Your trekking challenge begins in the Inca capital of Cusco – a fascinating city full of colonial charm, hidden deep in the Andes Mountains. There are many trails throughout Peru, but only the original Inca Trail leads us along gushing rivers, amongst ancient tunnels and ruins, through lush cloud-forest and sub-tropical jungle and over high mountain passes to the Sun Gate. The sight of the magnificent lost city of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, appearing through the morning mist is one that will live with you forever!
The classic Inca Trail encompasses 3 high mountain passes with the highest being 4,200m. The trek will be tough and will certainly test us, but upon witnessing the sight of Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate, the breath-taking views across the Andes, and experiencing the history and culture of the ancient Incas with our own guided tour, our efforts will be more than worthwhile!
The money you raise by trekking Peru will touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients and their families cared for by the RUH every year. Every step you take will help our patients through some of life’s toughest challenges and make sure they receive the best possible care.
